Carrying Federal Employees’ Voices to Capitol Hill

Oct 24, 2025

The best part of my job has always been simple to name and hard to describe: standing up for the people who stand up for America. Federal service is a quiet kind of courage—steady, unseen, and essential. Every day, we meet employees who keep vital missions running under extraordinary pressure. You remind us what service truly means.

Taking Your Stories to the Hill

Last week, Lydia and I met with key staff in Senator Raphael Warnock’s and Senator Jon Ossoff’s offices. Our goal wasn’t headlines—it was representation. We carried your stories: the paycheck uncertainty, RIF threats, confusing leave guidance, security clearance strain, and the daily tension of keeping the mission alive in a politically volatile year.

Both Senate teams asked sharp, informed questions and took careful notes. No empty promises—just real listening and engagement. That’s what advocacy looks like in motion: not noise, but quiet persistence backed by facts. For those who’ve shared your experiences on social media or reached out directly, thank you. Your courage gave us the details we needed to make your case on the Hill.

Why This Work Matters to Me

On a personal note, these meetings meant more than policy updates. I didn’t grow up imagining I’d ever sit across from Senate staff talking about the federal workforce. My family’s service came through the military; I chose a different route. But the mission feels the same—to serve the people who serve the country.

Every conversation reminded me how interconnected this community is: HR specialists keeping benefits moving, inspectors protecting integrity, scientists safeguarding public health. You each hold a piece of the public trust, and it’s a privilege to stand beside you in defending it.

Where We Go Next—With Your Help

We’ll keep showing up. We’ll keep pressing for fair treatment, transparency, and clear rules grounded in law, not politics. But advocacy is strongest when it’s collective. So here’s my ask: What one issue should we bring to our next Hill meeting? What’s broken that needs fixing now? Share your thoughts—publicly or privately—and we’ll make sure your experiences continue to guide the fight.

Thank you—for your service, for your integrity, and for trusting us to carry your stories forward.
