Southworth PC Wants to Hear From You: Nominate a Guest for "Civil Rights for Civil Servants"

Federal employees have lived through an extraordinary eighteen months, and Southworth PC wants to help more of those stories be told firsthand rather than about the people who lived them.

According to a U.S. Government Accountability Office count, nearly 378,000 employees separated from major federal agencies in 2025 alone. Behind every number in that report is a person, a career, and often a fight that most of the public never hears about directly.

Building the Guest List for Civil Rights for Civil Servants

Shaun Southworth and Lydia Taylor are building the guest list for Southworth PC's podcast, Civil Rights for Civil Servants, and they're looking for nominations from the federal workforce itself. The show books 20 to 25 guests a year, and organizers are looking for three kinds of voices:

  • Current federal employees — rank and file — with a story worth telling

  • Former federal employees, including those who have been speaking out publicly about what happened inside their agencies

  • Advocates and thought leaders working on behalf of the federal workforce, including union representatives, researchers, and organizers

No Following Required

Guests don't need an existing public platform. What matters is a true story and a willingness to share it. For anyone considering a sensitive topic, the show's producers will talk through what a guest is comfortable discussing before anything is recorded.

How to Nominate a Guest

Federal employees, former employees, and advocates can nominate themselves or someone else by commenting on Southworth PC's social channels, sending a direct message, or emailing [email protected].
