Brought to you by Southworth PC—Attorneys for Federal Employees

Dear friends,

I hope this message finds you well. I just returned from a refreshing and much-needed break in London—an opportunity to recharge and reflect. I came back energized and more committed than ever to the mission that drives our firm: protecting and empowering federal employees. I also had some time to think about how we can improve what we offer.

As I looked back on this year, one of our biggest wins hasn’t just been in the courtroom or hearing room—though that’s still our core focus. It’s in how we’ve helped keep people informed, supported, and connected beyond our legal representation. Whether through our daily newsletter, weekly sessions, or social media, we’re working hard to provide consistent value to you every single day.

A Small Daily Habit That Can Make a Big Difference

If you haven’t already, I encourage you to help others by spreading the word about our free daily newsletter. It’s designed with busy federal employees in mind:

  • A quick scan of the top 3 federal workforce headlines each morning. You don’t have to read any of them—but you’ll have the option and can stay informed.

  • One legal or workplace tip to keep you sharp.

  • One mindfulness or resilience note—because staying centered matters.

This is one of the simplest, most consistent ways to stay ahead of the curve and protect yourself before a problem arises. The newsletter is free and easy to share. While I was away, over 200 new subscribers joined—we’re now nearing 3,000 daily readers. Let’s keep that momentum going.

➡️ Sign up or forward to a colleague: fedlegalhelp.com/newsletter

Can you do me a favor and share this with 5 colleagues? If everyone did that, we’d grow to nearly 15,000 readers—and more people would be prepared before they face trouble.

We’ve all seen how quickly things can change—from RIFs to new EEO developments. Forward this email, send them the link, or just mention it in conversation. You might be giving someone the tools they’ll need before they know it.

Also—any feedback at all on how to make this better? Just reply to this email with your suggestions, and a member of our client care team will make sure it gets to me. Keep us honest! We're here to provide helpful, truthful information.

Membership: Support the Mission, Empower Yourself-Paid and Non-Paid Options

A lot of what we offer is free—but it’s not free to produce. Between myself, a full-time social media team member, and others on our team contributing part-time, we’re investing serious time and energy into keeping the federal workforce informed. We’re proud to do this—but we’re not too proud to say: we need your support.

If you’ve found value in what we share, consider joining as a member.

Here’s what you get with your $150/year (or monthly) membership:

  • Access to 18+ recorded sessions covering discipline, performance, leave, and more.

  • Our full PowerHub legal guide—a go-to for common workplace scenarios.

  • A 30-day mindfulness course built for federal professionals under pressure.

  • Weekly live Q&A sessions on Saturdays at 11 a.m. ET, where you can ask your own questions—or learn from what others are facing.

Many who started with us still show up every week. It’s become a valuable support network. Sometimes one small idea—one “kernel”—can change how you approach your job, protect yourself, or act more strategically.

And maybe most importantly: your membership keeps this mission going. You’re helping not just yourself, but the entire federal employee community.
Can’t join right now? That’s okay too. We know it’s not in everyone’s budget. But if you can, your support helps us help others. That’s what this is about.

Coming Soon: Longer Videos, Deeper Dives

Many of you asked for more in-depth content at a slower pace—and we heard you. We’re starting to release longer-form video explainers (10–20 minutes) on key federal employment topics, posted to our YouTube channel.

These will be free, supported by ads, and packed with real value. Make sure you’re subscribed so you don’t miss a thing—we’ll also link to new videos from the daily newsletter.

Thank you for being part of this community. Whether you’re sharing the newsletter, joining the membership, or just tuning in now and then—you’re helping us build something important. Let’s keep moving forward, together.

Today’s newsletter should drop in about an hour.

Warm regards,
Shaun
